EdCamp Bemidji Supports - Boys and Girl's Club of Bemidji!
EdCampBJI has a great history of contributing to fantastic local projects. This year in our search for a philanthropy partner, we wanted to find an organization with similar values to our own, one that would mirror the many sessions and discussions we have had over the last four years. We have found that in the Boy's and Girl's Club of Bemidji! The Boy's and Girl's Club of Bemidji is home to a thriving community of over 500 students seeking a safe place to be after school, working together on increasing their academic skills and making healthy lifestyle choices-- the perfect partner for EdCamp Bemidji 2017!
The club offers activities that center around three themes: Academic success (including staying in school!), healthy lifestyle (including outdoor education and financial literacy classes!), and character and leadership development.
The club offers tutoring, homework help, access to technology, a gymnasium, a greenhouse and gardening opportunities, camping and canoeing experiences, and service learning projects-- all in a safe and supervised setting.
It costs $850 to sponsor one club membership for an entire year. Wouldn't it be fantastic if our regional group of educators could help one child take advantage of this opportunity for one year?
As in year's past, making a donation to our philanthropy partner will earn a ticket towards one of our fabulous door prizes. If each attendee at EdCampBJI gave just $10, we'd be well on our way towards this ambitious goal. Please consider making a difference in the life of a Bemidji family!
